This weekend (Saturday and Sunday), Kelley and I will be exhibiting and selling our wares at Granite State Comicon! You can find us in the Artist’s Alley, booth number 907. I’ve included a map below with our table circled.  Granite Con will be held at the Radisson Center of New Hampshire, 700 Elm Street, Manchester on September 28th & 29th.

The spaces for Granite Con are not as big as the one we had for Connecticon, so we won’t be able to bring our vertical displays, but we still plan to pack our table with leather masks, armor and bracelets, handmade jewelry, costume accessories, hair pieces and more! Kelley will be doing face paint and balloon animals, and I’ll have my caricature supplies on hand! We’re happy to do your makeup for the convention with Kelley’s hypoallergenic face paints, or get your costume started for Halloween with the perfect mask. Want something specific made for Halloween? We take commissions! If you order a mask at the convention, we will have it to you in time to celebrate every costumer’s favorite holiday on Oct 31st.

Great news for those of you who have been following the creation of my latest Steampunk costume! I am scheduled for a photoshoot tomorrow morning in a park in CT to better document the costumes which were overwhelmed by New York Comic Con. I have made a few accessory changes to the ensemble, and am excited to finally get some decent pictures of this costume, and the costumes of the other ladies in my Cosplay group. I should have pictures for you shortly. Thank you again for following me!

I also hope that everyone had a lovely Halloween! If you didn’t, I hope you have a great party to go to this weekend. Because of Hurricane Sandy, Halloween didn’t feel like Halloween for me this year. Not much to do in terms of decorating because it would just get blown away, and I never did get a chance to go buy a pumpkin to carve.

I know that there are several million people out there still without power, and I hope that they are all warm, fed, and in good spirits. They probably did not have an awesome Halloween. These freak Halloween storms are quickly becoming an annual occurrence it seems, and I hope that after this tragedy people will wake up to the real effects of climate change! How many storms is it going to take? Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and it is a shame to see it ruined two years in a row now by freakishly strong storms. Strong storms are bad news anytime of year but those which occur during the holiday season are all the more devastating. This should be a season of celebration, not of mourning and recovery.

Do you guys love Halloween? If you’re here because you like Cosplay, like I do, then you probably like Halloween. What’s not to love? It’s a day when the rest of the world shares in the hobby which you practice year round, and a day to really show off your skills to the general public. A day where instead of getting weird and dirty looks for walking down the street in your homemade Startwars costumes and oversized skirts, you are applauded for your originality and meticulous planning. Anyway I digress.

I wanted to tell you about a new line of Halloween themed accessories available in my Etsy store. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Why is she trying to sell us things? That’s annoying! I can make my costume stuff myself!” Well, some of you don’t make your own costume things, and even if you do, we may not work in the same mediums or have the same skills. I’m not trying to sell you something for cosplay so much as help you display your love of Halloween in a new and original way, if you desire to do so! Plus my Halloween items are really cheap! Like, $5-$20 cheap.

I make accessories and themed jewelry out of vegetable tanned leather. This stuff is really durable, and the paint and sealant I use is waterproof and color fast, so these items are going to last a long time. I have lots of fun and colorful jewelry featuring Jack-o-lanterns, and candy corns. But I also have some great super hero masks if you do need to finish off a cosplay but can’t find the right mask to do so with. These items also make great gifts for Children, or a standout accessory for that super colorful Halloween party at the end of the month.

Each of these items are hand made a one of a kind. If you like the dress up, stand out from the crowd, and have custom made accessories that no one else on the planet has, then I invite you to take a look at my shop, and snatch these items before they are gone.

Today I have a few more photos of X-23, taken before Halloween at a party. They are a little brighter than your average con pics.

A costume like this gets easier to wear each time you do it. The first time you put on a costume there’s always those problems that spring up after an hour or so of walking around in it. With this costume it was the copious amounts of hair in front of my and the talons on my feet. The talons were so cumbersome that I actually took them off within the first few minutes at Connecticon, and I will probably never reattach them except for a picture someday.

To solve the hair problem without thinning the wig I actually pinned a little back for this party. You can’t really tell that the hair is pinned how it is, but there’s a huge difference in the amount of hair falling in my face and over my shoulders here as compared to CTcon.

I would like to wear this costume to a con again soon because I feel so cool in it. Maybe Anime Boston???
